With Selinsgrove canceling, is there any other open wheel racing Sunday? I see Grandview has URC. Anything else?

Although it was under a terrible situation at Selinsgrove, Port thought just for a minute of running the three features Sunday night or Monday afternoon. But since no rain date was officially announced they couldn't put that burden on teams and fans. The speedway and the fair board did really want to do something for the fans because of the two partial shows and the Fan Appreciation Night fell on a perfect date when those three divisions were back. They threw an xtreme stock feature in there as well for the Lucky 7.

Good job too port for handling their situation! I thought too they might bring up the possibility of running tonight. That would have been sweet. Oh well. Till next week.....

:thumbleft: Gotta give Port props for handling the rainout situation the way they did but yeah it would have been great if they could have thrown a show together for tonight with Selinsgrove cancelling. 7 features on the 14th; looking forward to that one.

Why didn't Port ask the drivers.. I bet they would have agreed to race tonight... Selinsgrove has a regular show on the 14th so they will loose a few late models..

I think news of the Selinsgrove issue didn't come till after the rains came. Turned ugly pretty quick starting with that flip. I know it's a "lose-Lose" theory, but as quick as it started raining, I'm glad they weren't racing full throttle when the rain hit cause it hit pretty quick and made that track like oil in seconds.

It was a brainstorming idea at best and the news of Selinsgrove didn't come till well into the rain delay. It would have been all or none and all teams would have had to agree on the Sunday or Monday date. There were insurance issues, there was the issue of having security and track workers, ambulance, track prep people, etc. It was a great idea in theory just not practical with a 24 hour notice.

As far as June 14th, no matter when the makeup was scheduled, Selinsgrove would have a race. It was great to have the 5 or 6 Selinsgrove regulars in the field and they'll have to decide, especially Hayes Mattern who has the pole. With sprint car time trials at Selinsgrove that night, maybe they'll attempt a double.

Lincoln has the All Stars Sprints that night as well. Marks already said he'd be at Lincoln.

I doubt you will see many of those Selinsgrove guys head out. Zona and Mattern maybe. Dylan Yoder will but he's not really a SG car.
