For the record i do really enjoy susky and think it could be the best track in the area. The bleachers are hazardous though and really need work. And the lighting...how do they see going into turn 1!

Ive said it many times though run 410s and ardc every sunday night and ill have a season pass :bdf:

Maybe he can't get the approval of Kathy Hughes to have a ASCoC race at Susky??

Or maybe he can't afford to pay the fees to Kathy Hughes to have an ASCoC race at Susky??

I think it's just the outlaws that have that silly rule.

I totally agree. The bleachers need some work but otherwise I love it just the way it is. To me, Port Royal has never been the same since getting the new bleachers. That old covered grandstand and the cement bleachers had a certain charm that can never be replaced. Unfortunately, it needed to happen but I would give anything to go back in time and watch one more race from our seats on the top row of the cement bleachers. At Susky, you pretty much take a step back in time every time you walk in because its basically been unchanged for decades.

I loved the cement bleachers at Port, talk about a speed rush. There wasn't any other track I know of that you ever sat that close. It was insane! I didn't like the old bat rafters though because, unless you were a midget, they were extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The aluminum grandstands are more comfortable and give a better overall view of the track but it just doesn't have the character and feel of the old cement slabs to me. I've gradually got used to it though. I actually enjoy kicking back with a backrest now in my older age. LOL

I haven't been to Susky in about 5 years but I always enjoyed the speedweek shows there. I thought the bleachers were in bad shape then. I'll have to plan a trip down. IMO this is the track that should have got the super sportsmen after the springs was sold, would have been ideal for them. I still don't understand why the Grove needs to run 2 nights a week.

The All Stars get paid whether they race or not. With the weather we have been experiencing, I wouldn't want to take on that financial risk just to get an extra 10 cars (if that).

Also, I agree on enjoying the 'throwback look' at Susky. Have always enjoyed going to this place. Yes, "Four abreast is always the best at Susquehanna Speedway". A good Jeff Ahlum quote from the Modified years.

weather looks great...excellent action at susky in recent events.

choose a safe board and hope they replace the old ones before they let someone else down.
