Cory Haas will resume his 2014 racing campaign this Friday and Saturday, June 20th & 21st; continuing his normal Williams Grove Speedway and Lincoln Speedway weekly routine. The pilot of the Michael Barshinger Builder, Embee & Son, Inc, York P-B Truss, Inc., Thornton Chevrolet, Tailgaters Grill & Drafthouse, Classic Rock Custom Stone, no. 11C ‘410’ sprinter is still searching for his first victory of the 2014 season, but has been ever-so-close in recent starts. Haas looks to get ‘the monkey off of his back’ this weekend, and create valuable momentum heading into the high-dollar ‘Pennsylvania Sprint Speedweek’ rounds beginning June 27th at Williams Grove Speedway.
Cory Haas will kick-off his upcoming weekend with a visit to the Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania on Friday night, June 20th. The world-famous half-mile dirt oval will host a regular program for the ‘410’ sprinters on Friday night. Haas currently sits twelfth (12th) in the Williams Grove Speedway track championship standings; just 130 points shy of breaking into the top-10. The York native is a former ‘Jack Gunn Memorial’ winner at Williams Grove Speedway.
The upcoming weekend will resume action on Saturday evening, June 21st at the Lincoln Speedway near Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. Haas has been fairly consistent at the Pigeon Hills oval; recording two (2) top-five finishes and six (6) top-ten finishes thus far in 2014. The former Kevin Gobrecht Memorial winner at Lincoln Speedway finds himself fourth (4th) in the current ‘410’ track championship standings heading into the upcoming weekend, trailing current point leader, Alan Krimes, by 220 markers.
The Michael Barshinger ‘11C’ team will enter the upcoming weekend thirteenth (13th) in the current SPEEDWAY MOTORS/CHAMPION RACING OIL CENTRAL PA SPRINT CARS Presented by HOSEHEADS point standings with 184 points. Cory Haas, a former eight-time Williams Grove Speedway/Lincoln Speedway ‘358’ sprint car track champion, completed the 2013 season twelfth (12th) in the final Central Pennsylvania standings. Haas had one victory last season.
