Just because this coming Saturday happens to be the 4th of July, that has no bearing on the purse, including the winner's share. $5,000 is the agreed upon base purse for all Speedweek shows. Lincoln's Grobrecht Memorial and WG's Mitch Smith Memorial pay more. WG, Path, HTown, Lincoln, Port, GView, Sel all are paying $5000. Last season July 4th was a Friday which was the Mitch Smith Memorial. This Saturday at Port Royal the Late Models are also on the program. On Sunday, there are two additional open wheel divisions on the schedule.

Yeah and it's $22 to get in! It's not the fact that it's 4th of July, but it's SATURDAY! That ensures them a great crowd and good car count. Being 1 of the premier 410 tracks in the country you would think they would want to do better. The SW show at Port is 1 of the best shows and most anticipated. Ante up! Lincoln still paid 7G after their Saturday night was rained out. I'll be there regardless, but it's pretty embarrassing when the 410 winner of a regular show at the Grove takes home $4250 and the winner of 1 of the most prestigious SW shows takes home less than a grand more? It's 2015, not 1995!

What everyone is forgetting is that when Port has the Thursday/Saturday SW shows, they do pay $7000 to win on one of those nights.

Why are you forgetting that when Lincoln only has the Saturday show, they STILL pay 7g.
