Lincoln handicap question

Post by Scott H » Sun Aug 23, 2015 1:32 am

Lincoln's 8/22 feature race had #44 Chase Dietz lined up 4th to start. He won last week's feature. How come he didn't start 12th? I thought the rules stated if you win a handicap feature, the best you can start next week's handicap feature is 12th.
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves?

those are the rules...im guessing they dont apply since they ran match races to determine the lineup for the top 12 last week instead of normal handicapping

Officially, the rules state that "the winner of a normally handicapped feature event will start no better than 12th at the next handicapped event"

Given the match races, it was deemed that the race was not normally handicapped.

Great question through. You certainly weren't the only one asking and we had to reference the rule book to make and then later confirm the decision.

This scenario was also the reason that Jim Siegel did not get handicapped to 12th when he won a couple weeks ago when positions 1-6 were scrambled via redraw as were positions 7-12.
