USAC Eastern Storm

Post by KWR » Wed Jun 08, 2016 10:34 am

Night one at Grandview - if you didn't go, you missed a good one.

Two long runs - 15 laps to the first yellow and then the final 25.
...and the leaders never got into lapped cars - I think I'm remembering it right.
Races all over the track, four leaders, sliders for the lead - got to see an Andretti lead a USAC race!

The cherry on the top was 80% of the fans staying to watch the modified race - walked out, got in the car and drove right out of the track after the sprint race.

USAC was done around 10:30, I walked in the door in Middletown at just after Midnight.

A bunch of old timers around me were talking about heading to the Grove Friday night for Champ Cars.
These guys are really excited for that race.

Onto Lincoln tonight, if Miller hasn't cancelled it already...

Friday will be my 3rd Silver Crown race of the year. Can't wait to see them at The Grove!
