Wish races of today were that good at Hagerstown or anywhere for that matter. Those guys went at it all race long. The last race I remember being that good recently was the Shepard Rahmer battle a few years ago at Hagerstown.

100% agreed. This race is one of my most memorable seen at Hagerstown.

Was this the night that Bobby Allen's shop was robbed? Seems as if I remember that being the talk the next night or next week how he won big at Hagerstown, but lost big at home.

I even can't help but notice how the track was dry, black, and slick with a little dust. Also notice something we used to see back then- a little moisture on the bottom for a low groove, and a nice cushion up high.

Anyone also notice the good cars and drivers that were getting lapped?

That is the kind of racing i remember years ago at Hagerstown speedway,i watched Buddy Armel and Bob Wearing race side by side for 75 laps in a late model race.Shame they no longer care what the condition of the track is!! Randy Grove set a standard that will never be matched!

You act like it's some big secret........If you go strictly by finish then this race was actually worse then most I attend on any given night. The gap between 1st and 2nd at the flag was a straightaway. I saw many last lap passes this past year. I saw many, yes many come from 12th or 15th all the way to 2nd or 3rd or 4th............but I guess if he didn't win it wasn't a good race. You guy's need to quit watching just the leaders or just your favorites and then judging the race by that outcome. There were some really good races at Port this year inspite of the new racing surface being too fast........yes I said too fast. And from the friends I talk with who regularily attend Lincoln it was the same there most every night. Good racing everywhere. Take the blinders off, open your eyes wider and view the race in panorama not just your narrow little view.............. Or, better yet....put your stuff out there and show us how it's done............

Very well said Dave :thumbleft: Its a pretty rare deal when a bad race happens in sprint car country. 99% of the time, no matter what track it is, if the posse is there, you got your moneys worth.
