Was 64 the offset car that started life as an Indy car. It has been restored back to the original Indy configuration.

No. That was Toby's own car that he built in '67 to run Saturday nights at Hershey Stadium. He also ran it once or twice at Oswego NY. The car was originally an Indy Roadster that Andretti drove, so I was told.

Al, Go,

You are correct about Mario`s first race.. Mario had his first ever Indy Champ Car start at Trenton in 1964 in the Stearly Motor Freight #28 Roadster.

4/19/1964 Trenton Paved Oval Mario Andretti USAC # 28 Stearly Motor Freight Elder Offy Start 16 Finish 11 laps 92 Flagged 20points.

His second start was at Langhorne in the Windmill trucking #74. With Tommy Hinnershitz for his mechanic :thumbleft:

I have no clue about which Indy roadster Toby drove as a super-I guess the Stearly...

After seeing the Emerich car again I knew it wasn't the same car, but the rest of my story and the pic. of the 67 car was oretty close..Thanks Al :thumbright: I know for sure the restored roadster is the Tobias car in the pic.

If you ever look at wha they did with the 62 #1 and the 1E they moved the motor back, hence the difference of the cowl on the coupe and the firewall at the roll cage on the 1e. If you ever look at just a side view of the 1e there is a big gap between the motor and radiator from moving the motor back. :thumbleft: That car still ran well later in life, Milford won races with it and then Bob Foor was Port Royal champion.
