I just noticed that my father's pickup truck is in the background. He also helped with the Regester cars back in the day. :thumbleft:

Bob is right. Dad bought the 64 Regester car that Ray Tilley drove in the winter of 64/65. Dad had three wins and a second in the first four races of 65 at Port. He won the 65 Hesston point championship and lead the points until the final race at Port where a slipping clutch made for a bad finish in the 50 lap final. Dad also won at Bedford, Hagerstown, and Selinsgrove in the car. I don't recall Dad ever running the big block 6 that became the 18 although I was overseas 67, 68, and 69 so it is possible he may have run it a time or two. Man I love these threads about the past. Great work guys! Bob, the model looks great. You do a tremendous job.

Dad doesn't think Pete drove this car. Ray drove it once or twice when Tobe was running heavies but dad said it was to try to help figure out the handle. Toby said it handled horribly, thats why he called it a mail wagon. It was stuck up in the rafters at the Regester shop when dad and pap went to look at her. It was just a frame, body and tank when my grandfather bought it and brought it home.

History question...

When did Regester move from Richfield to Thompsontown?

What was at the current Regester Business prior? Sausman?

Were the 1950's #14 and #22 kept at the current Regester location?....The old S & S and Ehrenzeller cars that Dubie, Negley, Crawford, Kratzer drove?

This is great. Big Thanks to everybody for all the info. I have a lot of old pics to post. First I have to scan them and clean them up before I can post them.

We still have that old bottle jack along with the cast iron floor jack that replaced it. They both still work while since we have wore out 2 light weight racing jacks which I've rebuilt twice and they are ready for a 3rd rebuild.

Dad say the big floor jack was too heavy so he often used the bottle jack in a pinch.

If someone could but me in contact with the owner of the car that would be great.

I confirmed what I said in my first post. The car is restored and sitting in Mexico. A big block is coming this week to be installed in it. The owner is Harold Ranck.

The year was 1966. I just completed a model of this car. I wish I would of had this picture for reference.

I added another picture of the car with Toby standing at the rear of the car.
