is that the steering arm coming out beside the motor in the 1080, just looks weird to me

Steering box and column put in on a slant the column ended up on an angle toward the center of the cockpit. As you can see the advancement one year later on the 62 version of the Trone 39. The first #1 Emrich car also came late 61-and became the 1962 car they both cut the bodies way down from an original coupe body along with other improvements, then as you can see late 62 thru 1963 came the sheet metal severely smaller cars as you can see with the 1963 39. I will post more of the 62-63 cars later.
