I have been in contact with a very good photographer who has since moved out of the area, he has been kind enough to dig up some old sprint car photos for me and there is one more photo that i'm trying to view.

Back in about 2000 or 2001 there was a 410 , white car red chasis red/yellow with black outlining, 77T Jess Thomas.

I remember seeing the car at Selinsgrove and at Williamsgrove once, The photographer found a picture but apparently its not a clear shot.

Does anyone have any information on this car or a photo i could purchase of the 410.

Thanks in advance

i don't have any photos but i think the car was sponsored by thomas timberland and that jesse was an older gentleman, mid- upper 50's?

Jess was from Pleasant Gap(near state college) and raced mostly at Port and Williams Grove from the mid 90's to the early 00's. He also ran at Selinsgrove when they raced on Sunday nights ('98-'00). Rod George drove a team car #17T for a short while. I believe he was pretty old when he started racing sprints. Always had a nice looking car.

yes, when they tried to run selinsgrove on sunday nights i remember him being there, i was not aware he had run for as long as he did.

The picture of the car i am looking for is when he had thomas timberland on the sides of the wings, and hood. I remember it had the 77T on the front of the nose wing and yes it was a nice looking car, very clean and put together.

i had a picture when i was younger because i used it to paint one of those $16.00 wind up sprints the grove use to sell, however after getting paint on it i didn't think much of it and pitched it, now i'm regretting that because tracking down a picture of this car has not been easy.

But if anyone has any information I like hear about the background on these past drivers.

I was on Dave Cordier's pit crew at the time and I really remember the Thomas car. We raced against him on Sunday's at Selinsgrove and I think he ran some shows at Grandview.

Try contacting Steve Inch at Selinsgrove Speedway. He can probably get you in contact with the photographer of the era. Also, there could be something in the Gary Miller collection. I am sure Thomas raced in the shows at Silver Spring. Try those two. Steve Bubb

Last time I talked to Jess, which was not too long ago, he still had a 77 that has been used as a showcar from time to time. I am fairly certain he still has the car.

I believe he does still have it Steve. We have his trailer and tow truck. And I may still have a few shocks that I bought from Jess and Fred when they sold out.

Yea, I learned alot from Fred. He still works for Jess as maintenance as Thomas Timberland. Up until Clinton Dropped 410's Fred could be seen as a spectator at Clinton County most Friday nights and still shows up in the Port pit from time to time.

I remember this car well. A little Googling found this...

LInk says 1999 Sharon Nationals. Lots of other great pics on this site.
