I think these are USAC cars,Meskowski didn't run URC.

Thank you for the correction. I thought the 1 was the Halaquist machine.

The great Bill Schindler at the Grove in 1952. David Knox photo. Schindler had one leg and that did not slow him down.

I hope some of the old timers on here can tell me about this one. It is from 1959 and it is the Williams Grove Speedway Museum of Speed. I know nothing of this. The photo turned up in some Lloyd King photos.

He was on his way to becoming one of the greats in automobile racing. It is **** Linder the brother of Gus Linder. **** Linder was an incredible talent learning racing on the tough PRA out at Pittsburgh. He lost his life at Trenton.

Both the great Bill Schindler and Johnny Thomson both died racing this same car at the same track,Allentown....Bill in 1952 and Johnny in 1960.
