Any idea what ever happened to the car? Didn't Mario Andretti also later drive it?

These pictures are amazing. Even though I wasn't even born when they were taken, I find them fascinating. Those guys who raced those cageless sprinters were real men. I can't even imagine the courage it must've taken to get in one of those things and gas it up. They may not be going near as fast as today's sprinters but they weren't exactly putting around either. Thanks so much for sharing your collection with us!
Way she goes.............

High in the first turn: IIRC the car has not been able to be located so far. In 1952 it was the Earl Beal Spl and in 1960 it was the Stearly Motor Freight Spl. Inbetween then it was one of the Traylor cars.

yes, I traced car to ohio. it was raced by bobby marvin & after that a variety of drivers in the ohio & Indiana area.
spoke to a couple of men who says they drove the car. one drove it in the LITTLE 500.
then car was sold, traded?? & disappeared, some say it was parted out & chassis went to Mich..????
end of trail,
mlight9

p.s. thanks jim.

Mario never drove this car.

You may be confusing it with the Gapco 83
