Maserati Sprint car anyone?

Post by Warthog » Sun Nov 13, 2016 10:13 am

A friend just sent me this listing he found on Craig's List near Chicago for a copy of A.J. Foyt's 1972 Sprint car. Ad claims Maserati power!

Maybe somebody who has more expertise on such things can import some of the pictures before the ad goes away. Or maybe somebody here might be interested in buying it.
Q: How is Central PA different from the Old West?
A: In Central PA, the Outlaws try to catch The Posse!

Interesting - perhaps the Maserati is just part of the copy thing????

Sprint cars of that era sure are beautiful, aren't they?
I passed on a chance to buy a Treviscraft of that era 30 years ago and have regretted it ever since - bare bones frame and bodywork but only $300

This has to be a faux race car. Never raced. Some of these cars use engines that fit the frame/etc and are obtainable. You can't find a Ford 4 camera anymore so you get something close. The vehicle has head lights, so lots of literary license taken here.
