I need any pictures you might have of the Lorenze Alwine, Pontiac powered, 32 Ford sedan #2 built for the 1961 season. The car competed for several more years. Black and white photos will help but any color photos would help in the color of the numbers and the “Baby Bonnie” painted on the hood. I want to build a model of this car.
Thanks
Bob

Hey 60s fan -
I sent you an e-mail last evening. I may have some material you might be interested in. I'm not sure the e-mail worked so PM me when you get a chance.

Now this is the Baby Bonnie that I remember. Lorenz drove it from 1961 thru 1963. In 1964 he had Brymesser and Gerhart in it - - at least at Williams Grove. Lynn Paxton also drove this car for one of the 100 lap Championship races (maybe at the end of 1963?)- - and was involved in a mishap with Earl Halaquist.
This is a good pic of the second version of the car. It is cut down much more than the original and I think this one may have been fuel injected. The second version was the same car with improvements. Robert Sieber has detailed the origins of the Baby Bonnie in volume two of "High Point Men".
As for the second Baby Bonney team. I just looked over the Bobby Gerhart thread and Old Racer indicated that Ben Woodring would know about this "second" car. Well, in looking thru my Baby Bonnie stuff I saw a pic that identifed Ben Woodring as a crewman on the Alwine team. Did Lorenz sell the Baby Bonnie to Woodring who then fielded the "second" car as a sheet metal super? This would mean that the two cars were really the same with different ownership. Just guessing??
