RACING GUIDE - a Central Pa. racing paper

Post by LarryJ » Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:59 pm

Does anyone know how long the racing paper, RACING GUIDE, was in business? I have 2 issues from June 16 & August 5 of 1966. It was a smaller paper than NSSN or ISN and covered Central Pa and Hagerstown and Dorsey. Their office was in Lewisburg, Pa.
I never really liked the paper at the time because you did not get as much for your 25 cents as the others. But looking back on it, there is some great history in the issues. Especially in the center there are driver rosters for all divisions.
Just curious what the life of this paper was and also do they have them at EMMR.

The paper was in operation through 1966 and closed in 1967. It was a good paper for local racing. I liked their full rosters they had each week. Steve Bubb

Concurring with RT88....I have some copies of it yet.

I remember Mr. King saying that those papers sold like hotcakes....unknown what happened?
