As I stated in my previous topic, here's my first driver ....it seems Bobby drove many different cars during his career, but was always confused during what years.

Thanks guys.....what year did Bobby drive the Lux #77 and the #44? Didn't he also drive a red #77 and what year?

I thought George Speck drove the Gettle 77 some in 1963 and Gerhart at the end? I remember Gerhart more in the 57 in 1963...I may be mixing 1962 up a lttle here.

Gerhart ran the Gettle 77 in 1964 until Gene Goodling got hurt in the Appler 77. He drove the Appler 77 at the end of 1964 and won the CVRA 100 that year. I am pretty sure he started 1965 in Applers car but I recall him in him in the Alwine 2 and his own 5 maybe also. Ed Zirkle drove the Appler 77 in 1965 and Bob Brymesser drove it in 1966-67-68?

Gerhart ran a 61 in 1961 and also ran a flathead #5 at Silver Springs. He drove the Fortna #43 in the late 50's at the Springs. He also had a brother Deacon who was quite successful at the Springs.

I believe Gerhart also put the finishing whammy on the last 1080 too when it was ran as the 10 car...1962 maybe.

I remember one Friday night at the Grove in 1965 when Gerhart was running side by side with Felty in the late models going down the back stretch.....I think Gerhart sort of turned Leroy into the inside near where the old bathrooms were and Leroy barrel rolled into the infield. Gerhart won the feature that night with Leroy presenting the Trophy with a bandaged hand. Bobby had a sweet looking 55' Chevy and Leroy had a beautiful Chevelle.....neat late models....good old days.

Good stuff guys...........I enjoyed seeing some of the bug drivers like Gerhart and Felty in the late models....and those cars of the 50's made for great looking late models. I always wondered the years when Gerhart, Speck, and Felty, drove the Gettle/Lux 77 cars.
