I found this old collection several months ago. I will post more as I have time.

Dose anyone know who build this #880? Alao who is the #96 in the background?

880 is a Morrall car I assume...1968 I think..maybe 1967.

33 is Pork Morrison...probably 1961 at Grove

46 is Pobletts in 1962

2 is Abel at the old Sportsman Show in harrisburg I believe....Fall of 1962

00 is Mighty Moe Harden...Lincoln in 1962...Emrich 1 behind it.

83....Ugliest race car ever....1962 at the Grove...Roger Sowers...Car got destroyed later.

45...No clue at Port

69 Linder at Port

66 is Grummie at Port in 1967

1 is Paxton..1968 I believe.

Just noticed a slight oddity on Abel's car....Emrich Chevrolet on the roof? GoShow? I know Abel drove the flathead 1080 in 1960-61ish..

I always remember Gohn Jewelers on the 2's.

Not 100% sure but I do know he drove for Emrich as a sponsor for a short time after Johnny left so this could be end of the year fall of 1962 as you said. I do remember at least once he actually drove the Emrich 1 coupe at Susky. Can't remember why or if it was 62 or early 63.

Actually Richard Howsare, Gary's brother, is restoring this car as we speak. The Howsare's can tell the story better but this was their first 5H purchased from either June or Roy. The car was damaged and was sat aside in the day. Turned out a blessing as the only 5H to be saved by the family. Legend has it, the car sat in one of Richard's farm buildings at his home between Bedford and Cumberland for years and that not too many people even knew it was there.

Ron Trevis repaired the car for Richard several years ago and hopefully will be completed soon.

There is another Howsare brothers 5H here in central Pa. It's the #8 Lingle Fiberglass non caged sprinter you see at the vintage events. The Lingle's removed the cage and restored it as a USAC replica. You can still see the 5H stamped on the torsion tubes when built by Floyd Trevis...
