To me some of the best sprint car racing ever was watching Ray Tilley, Mitch Smith, and Bobbie Adamson from inside turns 1 & 2 on a Saturday night at Selinsgrove.

I agree with 3913.

Ray, Bobbie and Mitch certainly put on some great shows at Selinsgrove -- and elsewhere.

I'm biased, I know because he and his wife were my wife's and my closest friends, but Ray was the best I ever saw in Central Pennsylvania.

I can't really say one against the other because there were so many great ones. I kind of look at it in era's and who I miss watching.
Johnny Mackison, Bobby Hersh, Bobby Abel, Gene Goodling, Bud Folkenroth
There are a couple that span different era's that were amazing to watch and those would include
Ray Tilley, Lynn Paxton, Stevie Smith, Kenny Weld
I miss watching the Weld, Opperman battles and then throw Van and Dub May in there.
Van May, Bobby Allen, Steve Smith were a tango to deal with at Lincoln. I miss the Weikert car no matter who was driving, although Weld, Bobby Davis, and Wolfgang gave it some record setting rides.
I really think the 70's had the most talent at the same time in our area.

The Best one was the 2008 Speedweek race at Hagerstown.........FREDDIE WHO!!!! Me being a Rahmer fan loved the rivalry those two had. They would talk trash about each other in Victory lane speeches. I remember a time they would talk trash on each other, but if you went into the Pits Fred would be wearing a Jeff Shepard shirt and Jeff would be wearing a Fred Rahmer shirt. You know they had fun with it, and was just something to get the fans fired up.

:thinking3: :yikes: We still see racing like that at Lincoln on a weekly basis. Think you need to put the pull sticks down and look out your window on Saturday nights. :laughing7: :poking: :bdf:
