That car is one of my favs of all time. I was at the Coke 100 at York the year he won . Had a blast helping run the track in with my '67 Plymouth after the thunder shower. :laughing7:

He may have been good but he certianly wasn't the only..........Pete Swarmer was one he11 of a wheel man in super modifieds, sprints and late models. Must have been a little before you're time.........

Not to mention: Johnny Grum, Leroy Felty and Don Kimberling; all sprint/modified guy's with several wins in late models.

100% Correct Kenny used to drive both in one night... That was before power steering on the Late Models !!

Again...........not many better then the orginal "Iron Man" Pete swarmer. At the Port alone Pete had 45 sprint/super modified wins and 15 late model wins......... When Pete drove power steering was a huge steering wheel and big guns!!!

I also seem to remember Tommy Spriggle doing double duty in the early 70s. I never remember seeing Smith in that 43A car- only Gary Snelbaker and later Bobby Goodling.

Add Bobby Gerhart Sr. and Johnny Crawford.....

Gerhart was a very good driver....to say the least.

Add Ed Shafer to the list of drivers that did double duty. I know he had some wins in the late model but Im not sure about him having any wins in the sprint car. I remember later in his career he ran a lot of races in westrn pa. Im thinking he may have a win at Sportsman and maybe Clinton County can anyone verify that?
