This Sunday, September 22, EMMR will host a roundtable discussion on Williams Grove Speedway history of the 1950s and '60s. This should be a lively discussion talking about the era when racing underwent a great change. Having 1080 there will be like having a talking history book. Plus, anytime Lynn Paxton starts talking about the racing, the history comes alive.

The roundtable is from 1 to 3 upstairs at the museum. Bring some good question and see if you can stump Lynn Paxton.

Enjoyed the event.......but we never made it to the 60's with all the 50's and side bar break off topics that arose. Paxton says they will put a 60's only roundtable on the schedule for next year.. :bdf:

I'll be there... :thumbright:

It was fun as usual. The little bit of 60s info was entertaining - the A.J. Foyt Grove fight was fun. 1080, thanks for the tidbit about Chew sitting on top of the Grove grandstands with the airhorn. I do not remember that and neither did Lynn. Also Lynn talking about appearance money paid during the '60s was great. The guy telling the story about Jack Gunn stashing money in the horse barn at Selinsgrove was real interesting.

The upcoming Fred Rahmer roast should be fun
