RT88 wrote:Al, I talked to a couple of people that were at Cedar Hill. It looks like an interesting place. I have driven back in and looked at it. They said it was between two hills, they used the hills as the turns. They had Daytona style turns and then dove down into the valley and back up on the turns. Today there are trailers perched on top of each turn. A couple of guys told me when the Reading racers found the place they came in and dominated and that led to the end of the track. is that right?
I was there around 1960. I don't remember when it closed or why, but it was as you described....up and down the hill, which made passing very interesting. :D Most of the cars were very much "junk jalopies", except for a couple Reading cars. I remember reading some results in the local paper and the winners were familiar names from Reading. Also, they allowed multiple carb set ups, which Reading did not.
