Awesome shots Lee!! Just wondering if you have any Bob Bender shots from around this time. Seeing that orange 17 sitting outside his shop in Rohrerstown was one of my earliest memories of anything to do with racing. I loved that car!! :thumbleft:

Very cool Lee. It's shocking how much Late Models changed over the next several years.

Thanks! The #39 Mustang driven by Lenny Erb in the first pic is the first race car I ever helped build from the ground up.

The rear tires look huge, are they grooved drag slicks? I only witnessed a few late model races back then.

Yes , they were drag tires that you would groove yourself.

In the 4th shot down, the transition from the stock front clip/long wheel base (Palmer Beer Car) to the full racing frame/short wheel base (Larry Wright, Martz Chassis built #27) is clearly illustrated. I'm sure Larry was on the move to the front to race with the other Martz car of Tom Peck.. Bedford must of rained out if Larry Wright was at the Grove... Mike Hess in the 3H, just as smooth as ever...
