Paid my respects to Eddie Sachs this morning. Standing by his grave, you could just feel the events of that horrible day in 1964 at Indy. Very powerful. RIP Eddie
Sachs is buried just a few miles south of Nazareth Speedway in Holy Savior Cemetery.

Eddie and my Grandfather were very good friends. They met each other in the Navy during WWII, and remained friends after. Every time the USAC guys would come in They would hang out at the track. Pap would take his grill to the Grove and cook for some of the USAC guys. (that's what he was on the Navy ship a cook) Eddie and Foyt loved Paps BBQ's. When Eddie was killed my Pap was devastated. My Dad said he cried for days afterwards.

My dad was a friend of Eddie's, and I was told many funny stories about him, when he drove for Charlie Sacks
