The Bears beat the Moose 3-1 tonight in Manitoba to win the Calder Cup :thumbright:

There will be a celebration at the Giant Center tomorrow night at 7:00 PM :thumbright:

The doors open at 6:15 PM.

Parking and admission is free :thumbright:

The Bears Head Coach Bob Woods has been promoted to Asst. Coach of the Washington Capitals, the Bears Parent Team :thumbright:

i'm glad for wood just like i was glad for bruce but they were GREAT ahl coaches. if they move up and the TEAM doesn't get the job done they don't come back to hershey they get fired. i was really torn when bruce went up and now woody.

According to an article in the Harrisburg Sunday Patriot-News Sports section today, Boyd Kane has signed with Caps/Bears for 2009-10.

He was back with the AHL Phantoms last year but with the Phantoms moving out of PA now that the Spectrum is closed, he wanted to stay in PA.

New Head Coach

Hershey fills coaching vacancy
Mark French, the Hershey Bears' assistant coach the past two seasons, has been promoted to head coach of the Washington Capitals' American Hockey League affiliate. Troy Mann has been named the Bears' assistant coach and will join French behind the bench as Hershey defends its Calder Cup championship.

Dean Arsene is leaving the Bears to go to Edmonton/Springfield as per an article in today's Harrisburg Patriot-News Sports Section :(
