Super Bowl picks

Post by Tweedlee » Wed Jan 28, 2009 9:12 am

Steelers -7
O/U 47

I had a very good run through the playoffs, but have no clue on this game. :steelersrule: and the media is really playing up Arizona. My gut instinct is Steelers by 10 based on the better defense. Plus, in the AZ/Eagles game, AZ got little pressure on McNabb. If that happens with Ben, he will make them pay. Fitzgerald won't have a field day on Taylor because he has the size and quickness to stay with him. Boldin could be a problem though. A lot of the experts are saying that harrison will have trouble covering James and Arrington out of the backfield....funny I don't see that as an issue. Warner is going to get knocked around in this game...if not, AZ will win. But, the Steelers haven't had trouble getting to the Q against any team this year.

I'm with ya Tweed. Ya gotta think the Stillers D will score one TD or at least set up one TD..........if not more. Warner's magic is done. The Red Birds are lucky to score 10.

Based on the schedule of some pretty tough pass rushes and the last game versus Baltimore, gotta think Ben will have a much easier time with Arizona's pass rush (or lack thereof)

Arizona is a warm weather team, not sure how that will affect the game but the games Arizona was blown out this year were all in cold weather (NE, PHI, NYJ). IMO Arizona's defense is suspect. Eagles racked up 460 yards in offense a couple weeks ago and should have had a couple hundred more. Eagles would have scored at least 40 if they wouldn't have stopped themselves. Arizona has the weapons on offense but the Steelers secondary is much more physical than Philly's. I think the Steelers win 31-17.

Cards 24 steelers 17

Nobody is giving Cards a shot...plus Fitz is a Freak.

But the probable outcome will be Steelers by double Didgits. I just hope its my first prediction.

bookies love those guys who bet with there hearts and not there heads....

King...almost every person on sirius nfl network is picking the Cardinals to win. The early betting push was on the Cardinals. All media is pushing the Cardinals.....

I have witnessed this before......media pushing a underdog hard....watch out for the favorite in this spot...

Despite going 12-4 with the toughest schedule for any NFL team in 25 years, the Steelers still don't get respect from the press/media. They didn't in '05 either. Gotta love the Steelers haters. At least they are wrong most of the time...
