Outback Bowl-

Post by TheKing11 » Tue Dec 07, 2010 2:52 pm

7-5 Florida Gators vs. 7-5 Penn State Nittany Lions.

This is the third time the two schools have played. Florida is 2-0 vs. PSU.

Both teams are very bad but that could make this game a good one.

Florida has a good shot at winning with all the speed and having a month for Meyer to get the team ready to play. They need to figure out how to score on teams better than Vandy and Appalachian State.

I wish Florida Didn't play PSU because I know Florida is not good this year being its a rebuilding year (They did just go on 3 national championship runs in the past 4 years and won two of them.) and if Florida loses I will have to hear all my friends and family that are PSU fans run their mouths how PSU beat a very bad Florida team. Oh well thats what make sports great, banter between friends and family.

So lets hear thoughts on the game.

PSU should not be playing on New Years day. Please tell me the signature win in 2010.

Florida has had trouble adjusting but as you mentioned there speed will cause tremendous problems for PSU's slow defense. PSU better hope for similar field conditions as the bowl game in Orlando the other year or they will get trounced.

Florida doesn't have a signature win either.

I did read that PSU got in this game over IOWA because PSU fans travel better.

Northwester for PSU. Georgia for Florida. Georgia is much better than Northwestern.

Hands down Florida played a much tougher schedule.

The funny thing is neither team played the best team in their Confrence.

Georgia is probably better than Northwestern but not much.

IF PSU wins this game, it will just show how bad Florida truly was this year. PSU is just terrible, absolutely terrible!

It's the same thing everytime PSU plays an SEC team. Nothing but talk from SEC fans about their amazing speed. Guess what? PSU has a winning record against SEC teams.

Penn State's weakness this year is not "speed", it's a good power run game. Penn State always plays well against teams supposedly faster than them. After all, speed is just one of many factors in what makes a good football team.

Yeah and "speed" (as you call it) is about all Florida has going for them this year, you just better make sure you have someone on Jeff Demps and they dont let him get in the open field or you will see some "speed".

Don't forget to mention that PSU and LSU played in about 3 inches of mud last year, so that took away a lot of the "speed" LSU had to offer.

If there hadn't been so much mud, Jared Odrick and Sean Lee (Both in the NFL) would have done an even better job against LSU's offense. Penn State played their best game of the year in that game and they were simply the better team.

As for Florida using their fast players properly, I'm not quite sure I trust their offensive coordinator to do so: http://www.firesteveaddazio.com/

Yeah they are really missing Dan Mullen, Its only Addazio's second year and its a rebuilding year for the whole team including coaches as they have lost a lot over the last two years. As for the Website the petition goal is 500,000 signatures and they have 592 haha. There is also a Fireurbanmeyer.com, which is just dumb.

Yeah let's fire a guy who has won 2 national championships and won the bcs sugarbowl in a 4 year span. He also got Florida TEBOW.

Meyer is a very good coach, but they say you can't argue with results and Florida's offense is bad this year, plus Tebow regressed as a player under Addazio last year.

Yeah Addazio tries to run the ball to much same thing he did last year.

Yes they are bad this year but they also lost Tebow, Cooper, Hernandez, and Pouncey just to name a few from their offence.

Both teams are exceptionally average this year. As a PSU diehard, I think the Gators win because the Lions can't stop ANYBODY on defense. This is the worst covering, tackling, pressuring unit that I've ever seen in Happy Valley.

for being a psu hater, i thought they finished out the season fairly well with mcgloin at quarteback. i think psu edges fl in a close game! plus florida has been up and down! they play tough for urban in his last game!
