Dover Nascar Race

Post by shafferfan88 » Tue Mar 08, 2011 7:51 pm

Anybody here ever been to a Nascar race at Dover? Best places to sit, places to eat, hotels to stay at in the area? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Back when I was a NASCAR fan, I use to have seats on the front stretch near the entrance to Turn #1!

I always drove down to the races vs. staying in a motel!

Yeah, we had seats 11 rows up right across from VL, could see everything except the exit of 4... We also left here around 5 Sunday morning and drove back, we were home around 11:30-midnight :thumbleft: I loved Dover till I went to Martinsville ;) :cheers2:

Been to many but never stayed in hotel. Drove down and back on Sunday - we would leave home around 3 am to get a prime parking spot and then sleep for a few hours. Go to Denny's for breakfast (not there anymore) before walking around the souvenir haulers. Our seats were in turns 1/2 about 6 rows from the very top. Could see everything. It's in front of the Cup garages.

Plan to leave early to get there then leave early to get out. All kinds of back roads that eventually intersect with rt. 50 in Md. Do some serious mapping & your ride will be alot less stalled in traffic. Must always take into consideration of Ocean City traffic too.
Can be very interesting or it can be a race with less than 10 cars on lead lap.
24 410's & a cloud of dust!!
