During the NHL game broadcasts this season, the NBC icon and the NHL-NBC icon appear during the game broadcasts on VERSUS.

Tonight during the 2nd Period on the top of the screen marque, it was posted that on January 2nd that VERSUS will become the NBC Sports Network!

Interesting!

During the Bruins/Hurricanes game tonight, the NBC icon appeared once in the 1st and 2nd Period.

Early in the 3rd Period, they posted on the marque at the top of the screen that VERSUS would become the NBC Sports Network, and then the NBC icon appeared several times during the 3rd Period!

So Versus is going to become NBC Sports "2nd station", which is all fine and dandy by me.....

What they should do (and maybe this is just the hockey/sports fan in me), but maybe NBC Sports should give broadcaster Mike Emrick the "heave-ho". He could be the BIGGEST homer announcer ever. Every game I watched, or could stand to watch with him commentating, it just seems to me he leans towards ONE team for every game. Pending on how many hockey games you watch on TV, Mike Emrick also does Washington Capitals home games.

Is this even fair???

For example, Jim Jackson (Flyers head color commentator), does not do ANY other games, or broadcasting jobs besides Flyers games on Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia. He is the Flyers announcer.

Maybe I have a point, maybe I sound like I am being impartial, but take a listen to a game on Versus or NBC.

Do you hear the same thing that I hear?? :wellwaiting:

I think Emrick's a pretty good announcer... he puts some excitement into the game... ultimately though i think NBC should look into getting Gary Thorne and Bill Clement... :)

Gary Thorne and Bill Clement..... two of the BEST, if not THE BEST hockey announcers ever.
