For the skills position players I've got...
U. Mich. at 6 players for a total of 15 stars
PSU at 6 players for a total of 15 stars.
That equates to 2.5 stars on average for each.
Check my math please.

Hint: Michigan doesn't need any commits in 01/2012 since they have a near full class already committed in 12/2011.
Besides, 90% of these players committing to PSU aren't even on the radar for OSU, MSU, UM, etc, etc. at this point.
BTW, I'm running for President of NHU.

I see 5 players with 17 stars for UM. That's more like a 3.4 average.
Any comparisons between OL or Defense?

You're looking at PSU's list thinking it's Michigan?
Morneywig is a PSU recruit.

They couldn't even sign him and let the Nits get him? Unreal. At least App. St. didn't get him.

Too late, he went to Florida.

Latest 2 PSU commits: A center named Wendy and a QB named Bench.

I think that about says it all.

I'll take 2 and 3 star athletes that are team players over 4 star athletes that are all about "me" and head cases.
That Bench kid will probably not see a snap outside the scout team anyway.
Beerhill, bottoms up!!!!

Wolverine's fans would know all about QB's riding the bench.
''Brady was a backup his first two years, while teammate Griese led the Wolverines to a share of the national championship. Brady was seventh on the depth chart and had an intense struggle to get some playing time. At one point, Brady hired a sports psychologist to help him cope with frustration and anxiety and even considered transferring to Cal.''
Perhaps Bench has read Tom's biography paperback
''Heart of the Huddle'' and will be inspired by Brady's hardships during his early college career.

Yep, and Tate Forcier was a 4-star.
Also for the record, Darryl Clark and Sean Lee were 3-star.
It's like Pat Fitzgerald says, if a kid is being recruited by Alabama or USC, he's automatically a 4- or 5-star. If he's being recruited by Northwestern, he's 3-star at best. Fitzgerald should know what he's talking about. A two-time first-team all-America during his collegiate days, he admits to being overlooked and having a no-star rating coming out of high school.
In a nutshell, the star system is grossly overrated.

If the Alabama's and the USC's are getting the so-called "4 star and 5 stars", they must be doing something right because they are winning National championships and PSU and Northwestern are not even close. just sayin'
