Saturday night video

Post by Mike Zortman » Sun Mar 23, 2008 7:23 pm

OK - Let me first say that this is my very first attempt using a digital camcorder. You may want to take a few "Anti sea sickness" pills and tie yourself to something solid so my video doesn't make you too dizzy to stand up :puking: . Viewing from your computer chair may be mandatory.

Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDEdTP0LpwI

Congrats to the #22 team on your win! A fitting way to leave Lincoln and head to Port Royal for Saturday night racing for the rest of the season!

Hope ya like it! I'll get better - I promise...

I Liked it, But what's with that extra rail on the fence  Looks like they killed a great photo area :ahhh: Thats the reason I don't go to Susky , I hope you can some how shoot around it, I like shooting in turn 3&4 but there is too many photographers down there, Lincoln was my favorite track to shoot I hope it remains that way.

If that's your first video attempt Mike, the video guys should start to get very worried. That was pretty darn good. Really gives you a sense of what it's like up in turn two.

Scott, they added a third level of guardrail all the way around. A ladder is mandatory now even in three and four. There are still some good areas to capture the action though. Don't let a little more metal dissuade you from coming down and shooting. You're a guy who thinks outside the box so you will have no problems.

LOL! The video guys are probably laughing their @sses off! I had some fun with it but it will never replace my still photo stuff. It's just fun to do something different once in a while. It's only a $500.00 Sony that will never take the abuse of shooting all of the time. I have had it since Christmas but haven't picked it up and used it except for a Girls basketball game and that was just a night to see what the buttons do...

I'm still lost with it. My fingers were numb from the cold and it was hard to use because of the lack of feelings in my fingers and the tiny buttons are hard to use.

Thanks for checking it out!

Good stuff right out of the box Mike. Great angle! Lincoln is tough from ground level, the winning pass was right on.

And I can see your work with my MAC!

It's entirely your fault - If you had not let me see your awesome stuff, I would have never even tried it. My favorite video of all-time is the Selinsgrove National Open when Chad Layton won in the Apple car - you caught everything - the race - the emotion - you even caught the attitude of the crowd and the good time the fans were having. Even your victory lane video was cool.

You are the master... I am just a student of the game... :cheers2:

Thanks Mike, glad you liked them, enjoy putting them together. Everything but the contact on the last lap.....&*%$ fog! Have fun with video camera, just a different medium for a true artist! Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff. Plan on getting more from me this year.
