Wow! Now that was some drama. Brad Sweet held off ILP driver Danny Lasoski to claim Night 2 of the Western World Championships, then was attacked on the frontstretch by Matt Covington. It appeared that Sweet got into Covington, which brought out the final caution with five laps to go.

Also, leader Joey Saldana was disqualified on lap eight because he apparently didn’t have his raceceiver to listen to the officials.

Sweet and Lasoski are locked into tomorrow’s $15,000-to-win feature, along with Jeff Swindell, Zach Chappell, Jason Johnson, Kyle Larson and ILP drivers Austen Wheatley and Brian Brown. Here are the unofficial results:

Donny Schatz won a spirited battle with Sammy Swindell to claim the 44th annual Western World Championships. Jason Johnson snuck by Swindell for second place on the final lap. ILP driver Danny Lasoski was fourth and Brad Sweet rounded out the top five.
