I was thinking more a long the line of deals between teams to more or less rent rims from teams that may have a few sets...

And I agree, I've never critised teams for not showing up to certain tracks for certain events... There's been lots of heated discusion on here over the years from people accusing teams of not being dedicated racers or not being loyal to central PA racing because they make the decision to not attend a certain event, which I've always thought was a BS comment to make about them... I know exactly how that feels, I have had a street stock sitting in the garage for 2 years now because I just can't afford to put it on the track (and no I'm not comparing the costs between sprint car racing and street stock racing), that doesn't make me less dedicated to dirt track racing...

The purse is a joke at $6000 rather than the typical $10,000 WOO minimum. I know of one prominent team that runs with the Outlaws that has stated they aren't showing up due to the lower purse. They don't want to support a trend of lowering the purse to further squeeze the racer and pad the pockets of others.

With that said I do expect a full and exciting field, I just wish the racers and fans weren't the ones being squeezed for more profit margin.

$6000 > $0

I'd think its better than not having the race at all, but maybe I just don't get it.

Nobody is being squeezed for anything. Every single person can choose to not go.

The prominent WOO team not coming must not be a platinum member.

Since there is only one winner, why would drivers care about the $6,000 to win purse? There will be 25 cars racing for 2nd on back.

From what I read, it's just a hobby anyway. :shifty:

Oh...teams not showing up because of the purse is just an excuse.

The real reason teams won't show up is----car #21 and the #48.

Different rims..... Classic.
Joke purse..... Sort of true, but still the biggest purse by far that Lincoln's ever had.
If this thing paid 3 cheeseburgers and a sack of sh*t they'd still get a good sized field.

Probably true Poolguy but I was just relaying what I was told. Who knows, we all are lined up at the gate each week even if it were for a hotdog and cheeseburger. From an owner's perspective I do understand how the full time Outlaw teams could be concerned about this trend.

For an outlaw race the purse is a total joke. Read the total purse is about $29,000 and last weeks Ports purse was about $28,000 for an all star show

"Joke purse..... Sort of true, but still the biggest purse by far that Lincoln's ever had." Youre right and thats the sad part...

Hopefully Lincoln didnt have to pay the normal sanctioning fees the outlaws demand. Reduced purse should be reduced fees.

But as a fan, a mid week outlaw race at Lincoln is exciting and im really looking forward to it
