Heavy Rain Cancels World of Outlaws STP Sprint Cars at Cornwall

Outlaws continue Canadian swing on Tuesday in Ontario at Ohsweken Speedwayfont>

CORNWALL, Ontario - July 28, 2013 - Rain has forced the World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series, in conjunction with Cornwall Motor Speedway and SLS officials, to cancel Sunday's scheduled event. A strong shower drenched the track at 2:10 p.m. and left it in a condition that would not allow it to be prepped for racing action.

The event will not be rescheduled. For information on refunds contact your point of sale. Tickets purchased through the track can be mailed to the track, and your refund will be issued back through mail in check form.

Daryn Pittman and Donny Schatz remain in a tight championship battle atop the standings. Pittman has held the lead from the onset of the season while Schatz continues to slowly chip away, dwindling it down to just 85 points after Saturday night's event at Autodrome Drummond.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series gets a quick breather Monday before finishing the scheduled three-race tour Tuesday night at Ohsweken (Ontario) Speedway. The series returns stateside Friday night at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo., as the Month of Money continues with the two-day Federated Auto Parts Ironman 55 weekend, which is capped by Saturday's grueling 55-lapper on the high-banked, 1/3-mile oval near St. Louis.

The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series is brought to fans across the country by many important sponsors and partners, including: American Racing Custom Wheels (Official Custom Wheel), Armor All (Official Car Care Products), STP (Official Fuel Treatment), Hoosier Racing Tire (Official Tire), KMC (Official Custom Truck Wheel), University of Northwestern Ohio, VP Racing Fuels (Official Racing Fuel), Vicci (Official Apparel); in addition to contingency sponsors, including: Bruce High Performance Transporters, Cometic Gasket, Comp Cams, Edelbrock, JE Pistons, Klotz Synthetic Lubricants, KSE Racing Products, MSD Ignitions, Penske Shocks and Superflow Dynos; along with manufacturer sponsors, including: ButlerBuilt, Fuel Safe, Intercomp, J&J Auto Racing, Jake's Carts, Racing Electronics, S&S Volvo, TNT Rescue and Winters Performance.
