Re: Daytona 500
I don't think you could have put a rookie in a more pressure packed environment then what he was placed into yesterday. To start on the pole in the biggest race of the year in a car with Dale's number. Maybe he cracked a bit under the pressure; maybe one of those deals was nothing more than a rookie in a car with a tire issue. Young drivers are gonna screw up that’s why they got a yellow strip on their bumper.

Re: Daytona 500
It seemed to me that Dillon had an ill-handling car towards the end and he was overdriving it. Combine those two together and it's a recipe for disaster at Daytona or Talladega.
As far as him having "grandpappy's money," you gotta play the cards you're dealt. Some guys are dealt pocket aces and others have 2-7 offsuit. He was dealt a good hand and he seems to be making the most of it. If I was in his shoes I'd be doing the same thing.

It most certainly is exciting. 43 of the world's best drivers. Just ask "ol DW", he'll tell ya.

Re: Daytona 500
I'm surprised to hear so much about Dillon using Dale's number with so many racing intellects. Austin is not racing Dale's number. He has said and it is true, that the number three was his grandfather's number. That is why he wanted to race with the number in his NASCAR career.
