In 1959 the Indy Dirt Car was the hot set-up At Trenton. Here winner Tony Bettenhausen in the Central Excavating Slp #81 leads Roger Ward in the Leader Cars #52. Ward finished 2nd.

What a miserable day that was, overcast, windy, cold and then rain. Lost **** Linder to boot.

And that made it 2 races in a row at Trenton with a fatal,IIRC.

Jimmy Reece Died at the end of the 2nd 1958 Trenton Race.... :(


They had that spring race at Trenton too early in the year. I felt like I was going to freeze to death there a couple of times with that wind whipping.
