Does anyone know when the new car was built? It didnt race til August of 66, yet was possibly at the Sports show at harrisburg in February. The new Flack sprint car was also at the same show, and it didnt race til September or so not being legal til the end of the year. The first tiger car, only took hot laps at the grove opening night and was back later but did not compete being illegal. This is a real puzzel as to why the new car came out so late in the season, if it was around in February.

I have seen the pictures of the red/white/blue sprinter at a suspected show at the Farm Show building. Mitch started the year in the Tiger 2 which I believe was the old McCoy 83/Wales 83 from late 1964 and 1965. This car was busted up at Susky early in 1965 by Wales. I have never confirmed that the 83's were the Flack 2 from early 1966, but the pics sure prove it to be dang close if not.

The number 1 sprinter was bought semi late in 1966 right around the time they allowed the converted sprinters to start running. The second tiger car was built mid 1966. One of the first nights it was out was at the Grove and Johnny Mackison actually took it on a few exhibition laps.

I think the "show pic" was from late 1966 or very early 1967. My Dad was a CVRA official and I was around racing stories back in those days fairly close.
I am fairly ceratin about the second Flack 2 and the Trevis built #1. They ony had the old #2 at the beginning of 1966.

This is from memory...but fairly certain I have it right...

Thanks 1080, i was at the 67 sports show, and saw the new Tilley 88 sprint car there. Didnt see the flack cars. it makes sense that the Flack cars were at a show in late 66, perhaps it wasnt the sports show. The two Flack cars werent around in early 67 races, as far as i know. The last they competed was 66 Grove national, with Mitch in the tiger 2 and tilley in the Flack 1 sprinter. If the first tiger car wasnt the Wales 83, it is a dead ringer copy. Like 1080 said, Mackison warmed up the new Flack tiger car. This was at 1st tri-state championship race at the Grove, i took 8mm movies of the cars on the track for warmups.

I had taken many pictures of the Flying Tiger
in 1966 and then went in the Army in September.
Tonight I will look for the shots of it.
It was the summer of 66 with the Husband and wife owners
and Davey Brown was the mechanic

I have the old photo of the 1 and two cars which is marked 1968. Photo looks like from the farm show building, makes sense if it was late 1966, dont know if there was a late show that year. Didnt however see either of these cars at the 1967 sports show. Was not at the 1968 show to confirm this. Recently heard that Tobias ran this number 1 sprint car some in i think 1967 which i can't confirm. Ray did drive it for some races at the end of 66 season as team mate to the tiger 2 car.

The Tigerrrrrrr car that Bobby Brymeser drove in 1965 disappeared after 1965. All the Tiger bugs were unique in design as were most bugs. I do not recall that "frame" being anywhere in 1966. I would like to see a picture of the restored car. I would bet it is the early 1966 car that Mitch drove. I would recognize all 3.

I always wonder how many of the old bugs are sitting in salvage yards or in someones field or woods....

One of the tigers is restored and for sale. It has drivers listed as Bobby and Mitch.

Where did you see it listed?
