PSU Basketball
It is do or die tonight.
This team is better than their record shows. The loss of Brooks for some games really hurt this teams chances at the NCAA tourney. When healthy, this is a NCAA tourney team with one of the toughest guards in the country.
My gut says they win tonight and make a decent run in the Big 10 tournament.

Mismatch. Bye bye ncaa tournament unless we see a miraculous run through the big 10 tourney.
Bye bye Dechellis. 4 starting seniors. This team will be horrible next year without Juco or some 5 start freshman.

If you look at a copy of Thursday's Lewistown Sentinel, there will be a column regarding Mr. DeChellis.Tweedlee wrote:Mismatch. Bye bye ncaa tournament unless we see a miraculous run through the big 10 tourney.

Read it! All good points! I got passed down, supposedly reliable information, that the administration decided back in early January he was a gone. They should have fired him last year though. They could have brought in a big name with 4 starters back. Now, they will be looking for a coach that will take over a team with 1 starter back and 1 other guard who did get some playing time. Next year will be a disaster unless they get someone in there immediately to bring in some juco's or can recruit some 4* & 5*.
The bottomline is the administration does not have a clue about basketball and I don't think they care. They could have had Steve Lavin back in the hiring process for Duchellis. They didn't even give the guy a call. He can recruit, has charisma and can coach. Kids will come to Penn State with the right guy at the helm.
I keep saying that PSU could make a run in the Big 10 tourney. After tuesday, I have my doubts. The thing with these conference tournies is that sometimes the higher tier teams laydown in order to get rested for the NCAA's. PSU has played everyone tough. The only way they get in is to win the conference tourney.

I enjoyed writing that column. I'm sure I ruffled a few feathers, but most people agree with me I think. So far I only have one piece of "hate mail" in my inbox.

David Jones with the Patriot has taken the same path. He likes the guy but has been saying "it is time for change".

Re: PSU Basketball
Ed DeChellis is really not a bad coach but it's obvious PSU is running the program on the cheap. I don't expect ANY coach to have lots of success with the way PSU's athletic department handles things.
Awesome time watching that yesterday!
