These big trailers seems like overkill to me. Most teams are only going 60 miles or less. I think most teams are on the lesser side. Even in the 410's I'd say only about 10 or less do much traveling. 90% of their races are in a small radius. It's there money so they can spend it however they want to. I think most of it is just, "well they have a big rig so he's not going out do me!" The big problem I have with these rigs is they block the view. It is even worse with 10 people standing on the top. The Grove and Selinsgrove have serious issues with this. Selinsgrove by far has the best purse, but then that is the headline division. Rules definitely are out of hand. This was supposed to be a low buck starter division and look what it turned into.

I believe the Texas Hot Wiener joint on Carlisle is much better, and they have the best ice! Heading over there for dinner in about 10 mins!

Thats funny I used to work there when I was younger. I agree their chili is better and they give you more FF when you order them. :cheers2:

The purse is what it is, and either you race for it or you don't. You don't spend $80,000 to race 35 times a year for $1000 to win and then ****** that the purse isn't high enough. Some owners just love to burn money and will spend whatever it takes to win a point title- good for them. If that point title is worth losing $50,000 a year over, fine- it's their money, not mine. But don't spend that kind of money and then whine about lousy purses. No one is holding a gun to your head making you do it.

you should be very happy they don't all have that attitude or you would be finding something else to do besides watching local racing.

It's not an attitude, it's a fact. I no longer go to the races anyway, because the 500 mile commute is too much. But when I was there, it was the same complaint. Teams used to whine that the purse was too low for the money they were putting into the cars. Who told them they had to spend that much? I looked all through the rules and couldn't find anywhere where it said a team was required to spend X amount of money to be allowed to compete. I'm just sayin' if anyone has a problem with the investment vs. return ratio, maybe they're in the wrong hobby. And if it's a full-time business, maybe Obama can help with a bailout.
