This discussion rang LOUDLY in my ears this past weekend. I specifically thought of the post where the person commented about not being surprised at the behavior, after all, even the "teams" do not respect our country via the National Anthem. This was never so true Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway as I watched Fred Rahmer not only continue to walk when the National Anthem started, but turn around and walk over to a guy at another pit (not saying who's car) to BS. That crew member had his attention to the playing of the National Anthem until that point, but sadly engaged in conversation with Rahmer instead of holding off until it was over. Granted there are times when you can't hear and do not realize it's playing or there is an emergency going on but this was an act of pure disrespect.
I can proudly say that every week that unless there is something crucial with the car, we all stop what we are doing and act respectfully while it plays. If there is a situation demanding immediate attention for that night's racing, those of us not essential stop and face the flag, while those who can't are doing it in spirit.
Kind of strange on your very first comment on this message board that you want to single out a certain driver and comment on it.
But you didn't want to say who's car he walked over to? Can't type what I'm thinking....
