Anybody care to confirm or deny if there were tires impounded.Or just a false rumor.

I can confirm the top 2 RR tires were "teched" .. "teched" means popping the tires off the bead and the tech man feeling inside for any kind of chemical residue.. Thats how Port "techs" tires..

The tires were returned to the teams.. No samples taken to be sent for further testing..

why would they check the inside of the tire?? dont they put the tire prep on the outside of the tire ???
