I will give some live updates from Maple Grove. Admisssion today is FREE so if you are in the Reading area stop by. They are abut 14 minutes away starting. Overcast but so far the day looks promising.

They did roll Courtney Force's car out of the truck so I would look for some testing by her later today. They are now calling the Alky cars into the staging area. Steve Bubb

Pro stocks roll in. Roger Brogdon in left lane versus Mike Edwards in the right. Brogdon real slow rolling in. It is all Brogdon.

Larry Morgan in the right lane, Ronnie Humphrey to the left. Morgan cuts a .005 light but goes into tire shake and Humprey advances.

Greg Anderson picks the left side, Greg Stanfield to the right. Stanfield had a major engine rebuild after his last pass. Stanfield out .030 early and Anderson advances on.

Jason Line to the left and Erica Enders on the right. Great side by side run but Jason Line wallops the national record lowering it to 6.477. How far can Line lower the record today?

Motorcycles roll in

Matt Smith has a solo. Matt Guidera breaks his engine warming up in the pits. Smith advances on.

Michael Phillips to the left but having engine problems. Andrew Hines on the right. Phillips out first but Hines runs him down to win. Hines goes 6.794 fourth quickest pass in history

Hector Arana Jr. on the left Chip Ellis to the right. All Arana

Gerry Savoie in the left with Eddie Krawiec in the right. Both slow rolling in. Still not rolling in. Savoie goes .003 at the tree and leads all the way

Super Comp is completing and the nitro cars are rolling in. They are really pushing the show. Clouds have lifted and it is not bad out other than being chilly. Left lane is stronger so far.

Here we go with Larry Dixon in the left side and Spencer Massey on the right. Massey has lane choice and goes to the right. Track temp at 68 degrees. Great side by side run and Massey just noses out Dixon. Massey to the final

David Grubnic in the right side and Worsham to the left. Worsham with lane choice. It is all Del. Massey has lane choice for the final. Does Massey go to the right or left side?

Funny car time - Bob Tasca IIII goes to the right side with lane choice. Gray on the left. They both leave together big run. Tasca's car goes up in flames and Gray powers to the win. Fire crew attnding to Tasca's car. Track clean up time.

Robert Hight has lane choice and heads to the right. Jeff Arend will be in the left. Interesting to note that Courtney Force is at the starting line with her uniform on. Look for a test session after the show. Good race with Hight advancing to the finals.

They announced as soon as any cars are ready, hit the lanes. What shows up to the lanes will run next. There is no schedule

They said for classes to report to the staging lanes and almost all classes are up. Alky funny cars first with Andy Bohl and Frank Manzo in the final. Manzo not only tops the national record, he destroys it. Wow he crushed the record with a 5.411.

Pro stock rolls in Roger Brogdon in the right Ronnie Humphrey to the left. Humphrey with lane choice. Humphrey has the third quickest run in pro stock history and wins.

Jason Line goes to the left and Greg Anderson to the right. This could be a big one! Anderson rolls in deep but Line slays him on the tree. Line with lane choice in the final. Oh no rain at the top end of the track!

Rain is over and the drying is underway. Motorcycles need to run their semi and then we go into finals. Hillary Will hanging out in press room. She will run 11 shows next year. Says team has good money behind it

Drying is about done and all the pro classes are in the staging area. Motorcycles will run their semi and then they will go straight into the finals.

It looks like Hight will go with the left side as Neff and Prock are checking it out. Johnny Gray's team walking around the right side. John and Courtney Force out looking over the track. Spencer Massey's team looking at the right side of the track. Also looks like Del will go with the left side as his team is really looking it over

They say ten more minutes to go. Force's team seems to be not sure which lane to take. They were in a huddle for a while, now looking at the other side. Now they are talking to Massey's team. Might be a last second call by Hight's team.

Here come the motorcycles. Matt Smith in the left side and Savoie to the right. Smith has lane choice. Savoie fouls and Smith heads to the final with a blistering 6.795

Arana in the left and Hines to the right. Arana kills him on the tree and into the final he goes.

Pro stock final

Jason Line to the left and Ronnie Humphrey in the right. Jason with lane choice. Jason Line first off the line and Line leads all the way. He goes 6.484 and backs up the national record

Nitro finals coming up. Johnny Gray picks the left side sending Hight to the right. Robert rolls in deep but Gray goes up into smoke. Hight has a straight pass and wins with ease.

Spencer Massey picks right side and Del to the left. What a race. Massey out first and leads down through. Del blisters the track at 3.735 but cannot catch Massey. It is a hole shot win for Massey.

Hector Arana III wins Pro Stock Motorcyle.

Courtney Force does two runs. Her first is full throttle the length. Good run she kept it right in the groove. Second run she shut it off 100 feet out.

A couple of notes. Del Worsham loses in the final and still sets a new national record. We were talking about that might happen and then it did. Spencer Massey said he saw Del 200 feet out and they were almost even at the line. Down at the finish line Del climbed out of the car and muttered "It is going to be a long flight home." Del was dead late on the light. Not sure what took place.

Spencer Massey missed the victory lane celebration. He had a five o'clock flight out of Philly and they hustled out of the track.

Robert Hight talked about Johhny Gray's team playing head games with them. They told Hight's team that they were taking the right lane. Hight said he did not buy it right from the start. As the two cars rolled up to start, Gray switched to the left side.

Look for Mike Ashley to make his return to nitro racing. It seems to be the worst kept secret right now. Ashley was with the Schumacher operation this weekend.

Bob Tasca III's engine explosion was a big one. Back at the pit they had bent rods, pistons and burnt rod bearing laying all over the place. Looks like the entire bottom end came out. Not sure if they damaged the block.

What a weekend. No one is sure if this weekend set a new record for national records being set. There were four different changes in the Top Fuel ET national record. Steve Bubb
