PA Modified Speedweek?

Post by Th3Swami » Wed Nov 16, 2011 12:20 am

There are rumblings that details are to be released regarding a speedweek for modifieds in PA :bdf: sounds as if its being created by joe kaminski and the gang who run the march Ice breaker event at selinsgrove.

wasn't at our banquet but i know it was announced and is in the press release that "Track officials are in discussions to promote a PA modified speedweek series". i believe i heard that the lincoln midweek RoC show was a success and someone else ran a midweek show that went well so that bodes well for a series. have not talked to joe for a while but i'm sure it will involve RoC if it goes thru.
My OPINIONS are just that and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of anyone or any track I am associated with!

Possible tracks: (my guess)

-Lincoln
-Big Diamond
-Penn Can
-Grandview
-Selinsgrove
-Hagerstown????
-Bridgeport?????
-Five Mile Point????

Just going off of where 358/Big Block mods are run on a weekly basis or make stops during the racing season. I did not list Williams Grove (not to be biased, but I don't think they've run at Williams Grove since the early 2000's).

What are the chances that modifieds make an appearance again at "The Grove"? Is the "pink haired lady" opposed to bringing back modifieds??? Considering you want to try and keep the speedweek tracks in a certain area (easier travel), the modified tracks are MORE spread out unlike 410 Speedweeks.

I did not list New Egypt simply because it is TOO FAR into NJ to consider it for PENNSYLVANIA Speedweeks. Much like Hagerstown is used for 410 Speedweeks. That is how Bridgeport made the cut. I know.....I know..... the consumate modified fan will tell me, "Don't give the New Egypt fans something else to b*tch about." :poking:

Just a thought.
