Miss the Ole place. You had to have the big ones to get around that place the fast way!!!! Super Fast & the friendliest organization (track personel) Kuhl, Tas, Harry Dee. Upstairs after the races and the drinks would flow til dawn.

reading everyone's different opinions and stories about who they have watched and think is the most dominant is what makes this thread great! different eras, different drivers, we are all lucky to have seen at least one dominant race in our race fan careers! :yessss: thanks for sharing everyone! :bdf: one that sticks out for me is fast fred coming from the wayyyy back to beat the WoO at the grove the other year! :cheers2:

My favorite "most dominant performance" was at Hershey Stadium on Memorial day 1969.

Midget car race,Uncle Jerry Karl started 14th in an 18 car field. He went from 14th to first coming out of T2 on the first lap of the race. He went on to lead every lap of the race. It was the first time my Dad`d family,my grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins ever saw Jerry Race. He put on quite a display for them.

One funny thing to me was before the race, the announcer reeled off a bunch of names of drivers he thought would be headed to race at Indy in the future. He didn`t mention Jerry, but he was the only one of the drivers there that day that actually did go on to race at Indy. :thumbright:

Anyone of Todd Shaffer's drives from the back of the pack at port in his early beam years, and the real good ones happened after somebody would tick him off. Then it turned into the Mr. Excitement show because it wasn't a question of if he would get back to the front but how quick he would get there.

Yeah forgot about those situations too. They just didn't have the same sense of humor at that time of the morning.
