You cant compare what Hagerstown is doing until Port is paying $2000 to win and $200 to take the green flag.. You said that Hagerstown is only racing late models 15 times this season.. Well Port is only running 18 shows for the late models so yet again.. You shouldnt have used that statement in your arguement cause Ports late model schedule really isnt any better.. Alot of people know who I am a die hard late model fan and work on a late model and I talk to ALOT of guys from all over the area and they all say.. Too bad Port doesnt pay more... I think Port is missing a big chance of adding to the car count and putting more butts in the seats by not stepping up and giving the late models more of a purse... Its pretty clear that with the late models only running 14 times at Hagerstown those guys are gonna head south to Winchester or be looking for somewhere else to go race.. They arent gonna go to Port with the purse they offer and tell me that.. Why doesnt Port step up and say hey.. Come race here.. Open tire rule.. $2000 to win.. $200 to take the green and see what happens.. Will it happen??? When pigs fly because the blinders are on and will never come off when it comes to anything other than sprint cars..
I wish those in charge of the track would go talk to some of the late model teams, not from this area that race there every week, but guys in the southern part of the state.. northern maryland and see what they say.. I have to give it to Hesston.. They promote.. They are at the tracks handing out flyers to their special races.. Does any other tracks do that?? Does Port?? NOPE..
Take the money from the points fund and put it into the purse and forget about a points payout at the end of the year !!!
Winchester is also paying $2,000 to win, and $200 to start for LM.
The only thing I don't like about Hagerstown's new deal is the fluctuating starting field/feature laps. And they raised general admission to $15 with eliminating the LMS on most nights. The details can be found on their website.
