TEAM READY FOR RAMPED-UP ASSAULT IN 2012LEWISBERRY, PA- It was only 5 races into 2011 when a heat race crash at Port Royal brought the racing season to an abrupt halt for the Coldren Motorsports “410” sprint car team and driver/owner Mark Coldren. Following the May crash the decision was made to put the season on hold while Mark continued to focus on his business, Water Treatment By Design. Opened in January of 2009, WTBD is an industrial water treatment company serving Central Pennsylvania that has since expanded into the Maryland and northern Washington, D.C. markets. The company has flourished in each of its first three years, and with WTBD now in its’ fourth year of operation, Mark has been able to shift additional attention back to Coldren Motorsports; and he’s done so in a big way.
With two cars ready to go, Mark is proud to announce that the number 07 sprint car will be following the entire All-Star Circuit of Champions Eastern Region series, beginning in Screven, Georgia on February 9. The ASCoC has compiled an exciting 19-race schedule for the Eastern Region with race tracks in Georgia, Florida, New York, and of course, Pennsylvania. In addition to going on the road with the All Stars, the 07 will run select local races throughout the year in Central PA. While an exact schedule outside of the ASCoC-sanctioned events has not yet been developed, trips to Williams Grove, Port Royal, Lincoln, Susquehanna, and Selinsgrove Speedways are tentatively planned. Other trips outside of the area are also being considered to make up a 30-40 race schedule for Mark.
Such a schedule would not be possible without the help of our very loyal sponsors. AquaPheonix Scientific, Advantage Controls, and Vector Industries have all been integral in our ability to compete each season. We’d also like to welcome longtime sponsor White Oak Ice Company back to the team as well. Product support continues to come from HP Engines, DMI, Wings Unlimited, Mach-1 Chassis, Penske Shocks, Coating Concepts, and Simpson Race Products. Delco Signs has designed a new look for the 07 machine; the wings can be seen below.
The team would also like to thank TJ and Tom Winegardner for their assistance in making this first trip south a possibility. The Coldren Motorsports team will be utilizing the Winegardner’s race hauler to compete at Screven Motor Speedway, Volusia Speedway Park, and Bubba Raceway Park. We also wish TJ the best of luck as he will compete in the East Bay 360 Winter Nationals while in Florida.
As always, Mark’s updated schedule and results can be found online at

21-year old Jordan Givler will continue his driving development behind the wheel of the Coldren Motorsports number 90 sprint car. After running 9 races in 2011, Jordan will again be racing in select “358” shows throughout Central Pennsylvania. Primary focus will be placed on Trail-way Speedway, with additional “358“ races tentatively scheduled at Susquehanna, Lincoln, and Williams Grove Speedways. In addition to the aforementioned sponsors, Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists and Culver Tool & Die will be supporting Jordan’s efforts in 2012. His first race is scheduled for April 6 at Trail-way.
2012 is shaping up to be a very exciting season for the Coldren Motorsports team and we are actively seeking additional crew help for the upcoming season to assist both Mark and Jordan on the road and here at home. Any interested party may contact Jordan at (717) 579-5286 or
