How true about the above statement, but for some people it is more fun for them to be able to complain

Good for saldana. Gotta respect a guy who will stick up for the fans the way he did. Our tracks in central pa do a great job for the most part. Rarely ever do us fans get subjected to a deal like those folks out west unfortunately did.

How big a bargain are $50K to win races like the National Open and King's Royal when fans elsewhere are taking a raping at $50 a pop to see a standard purse Outlaw show?

You should see the prices the asphalt tracks charge up here for the Whelen Modified Tour.

I have seen it. I haven't done much traveling the past 7-8 years, but I have seen Tour races at Stafford, Thompson and Riverhead in the past. In fairness to those New England tracks and their Modified Tour races, a fan is also seeing a lot more racing than a 30-lap Outlaw feature for the price.

I went to Chico for a regular show last spring, and I'm sure glad the track wasn't like that on that night!!

On that note, I got a shock when I went to the pit gate and found that a pit pass was $40!! :yikes: So I'm not surprised it was $50 for a WoO show :ahhh: :ahhh:

I found a recap video of the Mini Gold Cup - the cars look pathetically slow!! :ahhhh:

Not sure where to start here, and please do not mind my "rambling" (if it sounds like it), but there could have been a ton of things leading up to why the track became blackened and slicked over in heats/hot laps.

- Weather (daytime sun, humidity, amount of track prep, temperature)

- Didn't the World of Outlaws have the similar type of issue with the track in Las Vegas, where the track became slicked over early in the night and never recovered???

- (I know this sounds like a broken record) Running a support group with the World of Outlaws (when this particular race does attract a high car count). In my eyes, there is no reason to run the midgets/USAC with the World of Outlaws on the same night. SAVE THE TRACK!!!

This was the 2nd race in a row (3 out of the last 4) at Silver Dollar that had lousy track conditions. Weather was cool with rain expected later in the weekend. Chico has a history of being a hooked up racy track, but the last few years that has changed. It's not like Vegas where the dirt is garbage and no one expects a racy surface. The support class was just midgets, and they only had 19. I sure hope they get it figured out before they lose ALL fan and racer support, it's shakey enough as it is.

Wow, I remember being a kid and getting in to East Windsor Speedway for free if you collected 1 trash bag worth of garbage from the parking lot, lol...
