It wasn't too hard to tell about 2:30 yesterday afternoon looking at the radar that it was very doubtful Port was going to get their race in,that is why those guys headed to Lincoln.

I think if they wouldn't have had the track so wet they could've easily got their races in. They must have dumped water on the track for 3 days for it to be that wet :ahhh: :ahhh:

I'd rather they water it, than seal it off & then get no rain.

Maybe it didn't rain that hard at the other tracks.
When we hit Marysville on the way home the road was dry.
In talking to some guys from Lincoln it didn't hit there hard enough to mess them up until they were done.
In watching the radar it was hit and miss, Port got hit - I'm guessing Selinsgrove didn't get hit that hard.
It happens

Not saying they can control the weather. They had that track so wet, even if the sun was shining it was not ready to race on. Why is it every time they send the cars out the track is stI'll wet and slimey?? Have your track ran in for the fans and for the racers  I thought that was how it was supposed to be done?? Maybe no one told the track crew it was an earlierr start time this week :dontknow:

Maybe you should become a track owner and run your own track crew! Port Royal has been super smooth and super fast all year Hodnett,Rahmer and Dewease have all said what a wonderful job the guys have done! Give them a break!

No they didn't..........and what water was on the track wasn't very deep. I stuck my screw driver into the track surface in the racing groove and only went in about an inch. If the rain hadn't hit we were set up to have a track very similiar to the previous week with all the extra cars and double late model features. We were actually hoping they would have cancelled a little earlier. Would have saved us a lot of maintenance activity. We knew at 3:00 o'clock before we left the shop it was going to rain out around 6:00 or so. We even considered skipping warmups because we had a feeling they weren't going to be able to get it in.

Good thing we don't have expert weather man/track prep guys like pitside on the crew...............

I will say this... i had never been to port prior to this past saturday. From what I saw being done and the facility itself.... Port Royal is VERY TOP SHELF! Cant wait to get back and have a complete night there. Rain is rain..... let it be. Port, keep up the good work! :cheers2:

BTW.... I live 5 min from Lincoln.
