I will be bringing 15 to 20 people (several families of adults and kids) who have never witnessed a sprint car race to the Grove for the July 20th WOO show. It is part of a full weekend where we will stay near track and also go to Hershey Park for a day. It is my way of getting people to the track who have never experienced a sprint car race (or auto race of any kind). I did this about 5 years ago with a different group and they absolutely loved it. In fact many of the fathers were back on Saturday night. This was the year it rained out on Friday and I believe Pittman won on Saturday (he was WOO driver at time)

I am trying to build up the excitement a bit more this time. Does anyone have a short teaser video they would recommend I can send as part of the buildup to the 20th. I will send via email to the group as part of the planning / communication. I want a very quick to the point taste. Everyone is driving 3 hours for this trip so I want to build it up a bit. My other thought was to not send any link and provide no expectation.

Also does anyone have any activities / sites they would recommend to do in the area during the day on Saturday the 21st for families with kids around 9 years old?

The plan is to hit the races on Friday night, hang out at hotel and plan one activity for Saturday, Hershey Park Sunday. So looking for something fun for kids and parents to do during the day on Saturday. (My plan is to get back to Grove Saturday night).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Keep in mind if you are attending the Woo show it will be a $$$ ($30 adults/$15 youths) show. It will be packed with people and I'm not sure how enjoyable for those who are new to sprint car racing. Just saying :dontknow:

You could look up many videos on Youtube, be it, WOO or Williams Grove in general.

If you wanted to keep with the racing theme, maybe a day trip to the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing would be a cool idea, kids would enjoy seeing all the different types of race cars from different eras...

He said he did this same thing with a different group a few years ago and they loved it? I'm guessing he knows the deal. :bdf:

Thanks for all feedback. Purposely picked WOO show because of atmosphere. In addition one of the families is franchise owner of Great Clips. Plus no confusion of class of cars. Easy to explain to newbies. Finally it gives me chance to get two nights of racing in.

Something you might want to keep in mind is the hot and muggy weather that can happen that time of year. The last 2 years for the WoO weekend it has been 100 degrees+ during the day and stays a bit warm at night.
