Close Call On Way Home From Grove

After the Grove was over Friday night I was headed home on route 322 to Reedsville. I had just crossed the Clarks Ferry Bridge and passed the truck stop and other attractions in that area when my cell phone rang. It was Steve O'Neal who was about 2 miles ahead of me. He warned me of an apparently intoxicated driver who was headed east in the west bound lanes. Steve said he barely avoided a head on collision and warned me that the car should be in my location very shortly. In a few seconds I saw the headlights approaching and that the driver was drifting all over the highway. I gave the Wrong Way Wally plenty of room and the tractor trailer following me also cleared the car with no problem. This car had a good 2 or 3 miles to go before he could get back on the right side of the road. I hope all you other folks were also able to arrive home safely and that the errant driver was apprehended. Anyway, A big thank you to Steve O'Neal for the heads up.

That's crazy. A buddy and I had the exact same thing happen a year ago almost exactly in the same place. For us it was about a mile before the Clarks Ferry Bridge headed home on 322 west. I noticed the idiot first then my buddy who was driving saw him. He was flying too. People are stupid, I hate to say it. Glad you guys made it through ok last night.

People who drive drunk are idiots and there are no exceptions.

Very scary. This often ends in a messy multiple fatality. I hope the driver was apprehended before he could hurt anyone.

i seen that one morning driving from stroudburg to trexlertown down 33 except this guy cause a huge pileup and kept going and i seen him in the median about 5 miles down the road, i also seen a semi going north bound in the south bound up 81
